This 1956 MG MGA 1500 Roadster is finished in black over a red and black interior and powered by a 1.5-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes twin SU carburetors, 15″ steel wheels, an aluminum tonneau cover, a Sebring-style front valance, an aluminum radiator, PerTronix ignition components, and a stainless-steel exhaust system. The seller acquired the car in December of 2020, and subsequent service included a fluid service and replacement of the tires, thermostat, battery, oil pump, gaskets, and ignition components.
The exterior was refinished in black during prior ownership following rust repairs and replacement of the rocker panels, door posts, shut faces, and strikers. An Auster Triplex-style aeroscreen is mounted behind the factory windshield, the latter of which was reinstalled during current ownership. Additional equipment includes a mesh grille and a Sebring-style front valance, and an uninstalled luggage rack, a spare grille, and side curtains are included in the sale.
Steel 15″ wheels are finished in black and wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were mounted during current ownership. Suspension and brake work was performed during previous ownership, and the car is equipped with an MGB-specification front sway bar.
The cabin features bucket seats with black cushions and red backrests, and replacement wood lines the floors.
The banjo-spoke steering wheel frames Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles.
The 1.5-liter inline-four sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The cylinder head and twin SU carburetors were reportedly rebuilt during prior ownership, and service performed in 2021 included installing a Moss Motors premium ignition kit and NGK spark plugs, replacing the battery, thermostat, oil pump, and oil pan gasket, and performing fluid services and a tune-up.
The car is equipped with a stainless-steel exhaust system.
