This 1961 Mercedes-Benz 180b was acquired by the seller in 2010 and underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2014. Previously finished in white, the car received bodywork and was taken to bare metal before a repaint in ivory was performed during the refurbishment. New body seals and brightwork were also added. Features include chrome bumpers with overriders, tri-color taillights, driving lamps, and a polished radiator surround.
The steel wheels wear hubcaps with body-color centers and are mounted with Milestar Touring SE whitewall radial tires. Overhauls of the suspension and four-wheel drum brakes were reportedly performed during the refurbishment.
The cabin features front seats and a rear bench that have been retrimmed in red leatherette as well as matching door panels and tan German carpets. Sound insulation was reportedly installed during the refurbishment, and additional features include wood dash trim, a retro-style radio, 180b-branded floor mats, and stainless steel door sill plates. The heater box has been removed.
The ivory-color two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts VDO instrumentation including a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows under 41k miles.
The 1.8-liter M136 inline-four features a sidedraft carburetor and electronic ignition. The radiator is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment, and a replacement water pump was reportedly installed, and the carburetor rebuilt, in 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted four-speed manual transmission. A replacement exhaust system was reportedly installed during the refurbishment.
