This 1963 Porsche 356B 1600S is a Karmann-bodied coupe that reportedly remained with its previous owner for the last two decades and was recently acquired by the seller. Originally finished in Ivory (6204), the car received a repaint in its current shade of red some time during previous ownership. A full-size spare is found in the trunk, and stopping power is provided by drums at all four corners. The brakes were serviced in June 2020 and fitted with a replacement master cylinder. The right rear brake shoe was relined in 2021, and the rear wheel cylinders were replaced at that time.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with matching door panels and gray square-weave carpets lined with aftermarket 356B-branded floor mats. An aftermarket cassette radio has been added to the dash, though the seller notes that it is inoperable.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-colored metal dashboard housing VDO instrumentation including a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 65k miles.
The 1.6-liter flat-four sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Fluid changes were recently performed, along with adjustments of the clutch, ignition timing, valves, and aftermarket dual carburetors. The oil pressure relief valve was also resealed, while the fuel petcock and pump were rebuilt in 2020.
