This 1965 Pontiac GTO hardtop is powered by a replacement 400ci V8 mated with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in black over a matching interior. Equipment includes a Positraction rear end, a Holley carburetor, ram-air intake, power-assisted front disc brakes, Hotchkis Performance sway bars, 17″ steel wheels, a custom exhaust system, a Hurst shifter, Sunpro gauges, and an AM/FM stereo.
The car was finished from the factory in Starlight Black (A) and was repainted some time ago. The seller states that the lower portion of the left rear quarter panel has been replaced, and equipment includes a hood scoop, stacked headlights, a dual exhaust system, GTO badging, and a chrome-finished driver-side mirror.
Black-painted 17” steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with BFGoodrich g-Force tires that measure 245/45 up front and 275/40 out back. Hotchkis Performance sway bars have been added, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The interior houses front bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl upholstery along with a matching dash, door panels, and carpeting. Lap belts are fitted for front occupants, and amenities include a Hurst shifter with a cueball knob, rubber floor mats, and an AM/FM stereo. The dash pad has been replaced under current ownership.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a Sunpro tachometer mounted on the steering column. Sunpro gauges have also been installed beneath the dash and display water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 50k miles.
The replacement Pontiac 400ci V8 is fitted with a Holley carburetor, ram-air intake, aftermarket headers, an aluminum manifold, and a custom exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 3.23:1 Positraction rear end. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
The seller notes the presence of rust on the frame.
