This 1966 Plymouth Barracuda was purchased by the seller’s late brother in 2007 and relocated to Wisconsin, where a subsequent refurbishment included a repaint in red as well as installing a 360ci V8 Crate engine paired with a three-speed rebuilt automatic transmission. The car was relocated to the seller in Georgia in 2020. The body was reportedly refinished in red during the refurbishment work between 2008 and 2015. Features include dual chrome mirrors, a one-piece curved rear glass panel, and dual exhaust tips exiting below the rear bumper. The seller states that metal repairs prior to the repaint included replacement floor pans and quarter panel patches, and body filler is noted. The antenna is broken.
15″ steel wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 205/60 up front and 215/70 out back. Wilwood calipers are mounted over disc brakes up front, and the car rides on front torsion bars along with rear leaf springs. A set of replacement rear leaf springs and shock absorbers will aLompany the car.
The interior features front bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, matching door panels, black carpets, and a black dash pad. Equipment includes a B&M floor shifter, a push-button AM radio, and reflective red floor mats.
The steering wheel is fitted with an aftermarket vinyl wrap and frames a 120-mph speedometer and a performance indicator gauge. Aftermarket gauges include a column-mounted Super Pro 8k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for water temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and battery voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles.
The 360ci V8 is said to be a crate engine sourced from Summit Racing and installed during the refurbishment. It features include a Summit Racing aluminum intake manifold, chrome valve covers, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke. The head gaskets were replaced and the cylinder heads were resurfaced in 2014, and an aluminum radiator is fitted.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2012. An aftermarket dual exhaust system is installed and exits through polished turn-down tips.
