This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is said to have been refurbished under previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in 2014. Delivered from the factory in Safari Yellow (984), the fiberglass body was repainted in its current orange with gold pinstripes under previous ownership. Features include push-button door releases, a driver-side mirror, 427 badging, pop-up headlights, chrome bumpers, and a dual side-exit exhaust system.
The 15″ Rally wheels wear chrome center caps and trim rings and are mounted with BFGoodrich Long Trail T/A tires. Braking is handled by discs at all four corners.
The cockpit features bucket seats trimmed in black leather along with a matching dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Features include a Delco AM/FM radio, a heater, a polished shift knob, and lap belts. An aftermarket air-conditioning system was installed under previous ownership.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges mounted in the center stack include an analog clock along with displays for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles.
The 427ci V8 features triple carburetors and a chrome air cleaner. Ceramic valve covers and an MSD ignition were added under previous ownership. The engine is said to run rich.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 Posi-traction differential.
