This 1968 Ford Mustang convertible is a J-code example that was built at the Dearborn, Michigan, factory in April 1968 and is finished in gold over black. Power comes from a 302ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and features include a black soft top, 17″ US Mags wheels, Wilwood disc brakes, a Borgeson steering box, sequential LED taillights, hood-vent indicators, billet interior trim, an aftermarket center console, and a custom sound system with a Sony stereo, two amplifiers, five speakers, and a 10″ subwoofer in the trunk.
The car is finished in Sunlit Gold with black hood aLents and features a black soft top along with a matching boot cover. Additional equipment includes sequential LED taillights and hood-mounted indicators as well as an aftermarket antenna, gas cap, and mirrors.
Forged 17″ x 8″ US Mags Rambler wheels wear spinner center caps and are mounted with staggered 225/45 front and 255/40 rear Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. The suspension is said to have been replaced, and a Borgeson steering box has been installed. Four-piston Wilwood brake calipers are paired with cross-drilled and slotted rotors front and rear.
The interior features bucket seats and a rear bench that have been re-covered in black vinyl. A billet pedal set, parking-brake-release handle, and door panels have been added, while the fusebox and driver’s switchgear have been replaced. A Mustangs to Fear console assembly with brushed-aluminum trim has been fitted to complement the matching trim veneers across the dashboard. A Hurst shifter, Python alarm, and battery kill switch have also been added.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and auxiliary gauges. A clock and tachometer are mounted in the center stack, and the five-digit odometer shows 76k miles.
A Sony stereo is mounted in the center of the dashboard and paired with two amplifiers mounted in the trunk along with a 10″ Alpine subwoofer. Four 6.5″ Pioneer speakers have been added in the cabin along with a Kicker speaker module mounted in the center of the dash top. Dynamat insulation has been added to the trunk and rear quarter panels along with custom embroidered carpets, and the trunk lid utilizes machined billet hinges.
The 302ci V8 is finished in blue and topped with “Power By Ford” valve covers as well as a finned Edelbrock air-cleaner assembly.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and a 20-gallon fuel tank has been installed.
