This 1969½ Plymouth Road Runner is an M-code coupe that was acquired in 1999 by the seller’s late father, who had the car refinished in orange over black at that time. Power comes from a replacement 440ci V8 with a trio of two-barrel carburetors. Features include a four-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, a black lift-off hood with a scoop, 15″ Cragar wheels, an aftermarket tachometer, and an AM/FM radio.
Mopar’s special-order A12 option was highlighted by the triple carburetors and became available in early 1969 for Plymouth Road Runner and Dodge Super Bee models. One of 1,412 A12-equipped Road Runners produced, this car was delivered new in Vitamin C orange (K2) and refinished in 1999 when the seller’s father purchased the vehicle. Its black hood features a scoop, four attachment pins, and no hinges.
Five-spoke 15″ Cragar wheels are mounted with 245/60 front and 295/50 rear Futura GLS Super Sport tires. Each corner is equipped with drum brakes.
The interior features bucket seats with headrests and a rear bench with ridged black upholstery. The black carpeting is protected by 440 Six Pack/69 Road Runner–branded mats, and an AM/FM radio is located in the center of the dashboard. A full-length console is mounted over the transmission tunnel.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. An AutoMeter tachometer with a shift light is mounted to the steering column, and additional gauges are affixed under the dashboard. The odometer shows approximately 4,100 miles and has rolled over.
The car was delivered new with a 440ci V8 with a six-barrel induction system. The 440ci engine in the car is a replacement component said to date from 1968.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a numbers-matching four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 4.10:1 gears.
