This 1969 MGB roadster was first delivered to Lancaster County Motors in Pennsylvania, and it was purchased by the seller in 1990. A refurbishment was performed in 2008, which included replacement of body panels and refinishing the exterior in red, retrimming the black interior, and replacement of the fuel system and braking components. Power is from a 1.8-liter inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and equipment includes a black soft top, 14″ wire wheels, and a heater.
The quarter panels, floors, and rocker panels were replaced in 2008, and the body was subsequently refinished in red. Additional components replaced at the same time include the windshield and its associated seals, the hood, trunk, door, and window seals, exterior lighting assemblies, and the front grille, mirror, door handles, and chrome side moldings. The seller reports a tear in the black convertible top, and a black tonneau cover and an additional uninstalled convertible top are included in the sale.
Silver-finished 14″ wire wheels with octagonal wheel nuts are mounted with 185/70 Pirelli P44 tires, with a full size spare mounted to an older Barum tire located in the trunk. Services performed to the braking system in 2008 included replacement of the rotors, master cylinder, and rear wheel cylinders and brake components. The seller reports a leak coming from the brake master cylinder.
The interior was refreshed in 2008 with replacement black carpeting and door panels complementing the bucket seats that are trimmed in black vinyl. Additional components replaced in 2008 include the dashboard panel, window crank handles, and door sill covers. An analog clock and wooden shift knob have been fitted, and the radio has been removed.
The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges displaying fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The horn is said to function intermittently. The five-digit odometer shows under 78k miles.
The 1.8L BMC B-series inline-four is equipped with dual SU carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. During the 2008 refurbishment, an oil change was performed in addition to replacement of the valve cover gasket, intake manifold gasket, spark plugs, and heater core. The fuel system was also overhauled, with a replacement tank and pump.
Spare parts, a shop manual, and service records dating back to 2008 are included in the sale, in addition to purchase documents from Lancaster County Motors in Pennsylvania listing a delivery date of July 1969.
