This 1972 Ford Bronco Sport was acquired in 2013 by the current owner, who subsequently commissioned a refurbishment that consisted of rust repair and a repaint in brown over reupholstered white vinyl. Equipment includes a removable hardtop, a roll cage, fender flares, dual fuel tanks, an Edelbrock carburetor, an aluminum radiator, aftermarket exhaust headers, 15″ American Racing wheels, and a JVC CD stereo.
The body was reportedly stripped and rust in the floorboards and cowl was repaired prior to refinishing the truck in its factory Sequoia Brown in 2016. The windshield and weather seals are said to have been replaced at the same time. The white removable hardtop is underpinned by a four-point roll cage, and the rear fenders have been cut with fender flares installed all around. Other exterior features include body side trim, dual mirrors, replacement chrome bumpers with guards, a drop-down tailgate, a swing-away spare tire carrier, and hood pins.
Polished 15″ American Racing wheels wear 31×10.5″ Big O Big Foot X/T tires mounted in 2000. A matching spare is mounted at the rear, and the truck is equipped with manually-locking front hubs. The shocks and brakes are said to have been replaced during the refurbishment.
The cabin features front bucket and rear bench seats reupholstered in Parchment vinyl with matching door panel inserts, trim panels, and black carpeting. Amenities include lap belts and a JVC CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
The two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a white-painted dashboard with a black dash pad and instrumentation consisting of a 100-mph speedometer with inset auxiliary gauges and a column-mounted Sunpro Super Tach III tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 81k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 302ci V8 was reportedly rebuilt and was removed, resealed, and repainted at the time of the body refurbishment. Equipment includes an Edelbrock intake manifold and four-barrel carburetor topped by an open-element Ford Racing air filter, a Champion aluminum radiator, chrome Ford Racing valve covers, and aftermarket headers flowing into dual exhausts. The wiring harness was reportedly replaced during the refurbishment. The harmonic balancer was replaced, and the oil was changed in March 2021.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission—that is said to have been rebuilt—and a dual-range transfer case. Additional views of the underbody show undercoating that was applied to the frame and chassis at the time of the repaint in 2016, along with suspension, steering, and drivetrain components.
