This 1972 Triumph TR6 is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and it is finished in Sapphire Blue over a matching interior. Additional features include a black convertible top, a roll bar, chrome bumpers, triple Stromberg carburetors, Pertronix ignition, a heater, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The car reportedly underwent refurbishment during previous ownership, and was acquired by the seller in 2015. Services performed since the seller’s acquisition included an overhaul to the braking system and replacement of the driveshaft universal joints as well as clutch and ignition components.
The car was delivered from the factory in Sapphire Blue (96) and was refinished during prior ownership according to the seller. Red pinstriping accents the sides, and the car is also equipped with a roll bar, a front spoiler, chrome bumpers, Talbot-style mirrors, Triplex etchings on the glass, and dual exhaust outlets. The black soft top is shown in its raised position in the gallery below, along with the included tonneau cover. An aftermarket boot cover is also included, and during current ownership wiring repairs were performed in the headlights and turn signals.
Steel 15″ wheels feature TR6-logo hub covers, polished trim rings, and 195/65 Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires, and a matching spare is stored in the trunk. The braking system was overhauled in 2020, which included replacement of the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, lines, calipers, front discs and pads, and rear drums and shoes. The brakes were adjusted in 2021.
The cabin features high-back seats upholstered in blue vinyl with black piping, and features include a woodgrain dashboard and shift knob as well as a lockable glovebox, door panel storage pockets, Triumph-branded floor mats, and an Optimus AM/FM cassette stereo. The left window regulator was replaced during current ownership along with the mirror and floor mats, an uninstalled replacement right-side window regulator is included in the sale.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and additional gauges displaying fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage. 75k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller. The speedometer cable angle drive was repaired in 2021, and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.5-liter inline-six was reportedly refurbished under prior ownership and features triple Stromberg carburetors and a Holley electric fuel pump. Additional features include a Pertronix ignition, an external oil cooler, an electric fan, and a chrome valve cover. The seller reports replacement of the driveshaft universal joint seals, as well as clutch and ignition components during current ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with electronically-activated overdrive.
