This 1973 Chevrolet Suburban Cheyenne Super Estate was sold new by Les Shellabarger Chevrolet in Grand Junction, Colorado, and was the subject of a refurbishment carried out in Kansas under previous ownership in 2006. Work included a repaint in Spanish Gold and reupholstery of the interior in brown, while later modifications included installing a 4″ suspension lift and 17″ Mickey Thompson aluminum wheels. Power is provided by a rebuilt 350ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission with a dual-range transfer case, and factory equipment includes air conditioning, wood grain exterior trim, an electric tailgate window, and a 30-gallon fuel tank. The truck was recently acquired by the seller following time in a private Canadian collection, and maintenance performed in preparation of the sale included an air conditioning recharge.
The body was reportedly removed from the frame prior to being media blasted and painted in Spanish Gold with woodgrain trim during an early-2000s refurbishment. Features include a chrome front grille and bumpers, a split tailgate with an electric window, a side-exit exhaust, and Cheyenne Super fender badging.
The 17″ Mickey Thompson Classic III polished aluminum wheels are mounted with 35×12.5″ Nitto Mud Grappler Extreme Terrain tires all around.
The refurbished cabin features bench seating trimmed in brown cloth and vinyl, along with body-color metal surfaces and matching carpets. Amenities include front and rear air conditioning, power steering, third-row seating, and a push-button radio.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles.
The 350ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt and features black-painted valve covers and a four-barrel carburetor. Power is routed through a column-shifted three-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a Posi-traction rear axle.
The window sticker lists delivery to Les Shellabarger Chevrolet, factory equipment, and a total price of $7,183.
