The car is finished in white over black vinyl upholstery, and additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, a short-shift kit, a black soft top, and a Blaupunkt CD stereo.
The car was factory finished in Toga White (L90C) and was repainted under previous ownership. Exterior features include a refurbished black convertible soft top, a hinged windshield, and removable doors. The seller notes that the right rear corner shows evidence of past damage, and that the engine cover has been replaced.
White 14″ wheels were recently powder coated and wear bright VW center caps along with with Kumho front and Douglas rear tires. The rear brakes were recently adjusted, and work performed under previous ownership included replacement of the axles, CV joints, wheel bearings, tie-rod ends, and front ball joints.
The cabin features factory black vinyl front seats, gray carpeting, and body-color painted surfaces. The heater box, ducts, and cables have been replaced and the interior floor was cleaned and re-sealed. A previous repair at the battery box is noted, and the windshield wiper motor works intermittently.
A four-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer showing 23k miles.
The replacement dual-port 1,600cc flat-four was refurbished under current ownership and features an EMPI 34 PICT/3 carburetor, a factory muffler, a TDI starter, and an alternator. Replacement parts fitted are said to have included the fuel pump, fuel lines, ignition coil, distributor cap and rotor, and plug wires.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
