This 1976 Triumph TR6 was delivered new to Butler Welch Imports of Indianapolis, Indiana, and is said to have remained with its first owner for almost four decades. In 2014 the second owner painted the car, and it later spent time in Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee before the seller acquired the vehicle in Oklahoma in April 2021. Finished in white with a red convertible top over black upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Other equipment includes dual carburetors, chrome bumpers, a heater, and a Kenwood stereo.
The car was refinished in white in 2014, and the process involved leaving the body on the frame but removing the fenders, trunk lid, hood, and doors. The engine bay and trunk also were repainted. Replacement windshield and door moldings were installed, together with a red top from Prestige Automotive. The boot cover is a date-coded item, and other equipment includes chrome bumpers with black overriders, a driver-side bullet-style mirror, Union Jack decals on the quarter panels, and dual exhaust outlets.
Universal Sport 185SR15 redline tires with 2021 date codes have been installed on 15″ factory steel wheels that bear aluminum beauty rings and TR6 center caps. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. A prior owner reportedly had the brake master cylinder rebuilt and replaced the pistons, lines, rear cylinders, and front pads and also turned the rear drums and cleaned rust from the system. A tool kit and a full-size Michelin redline spare tire are located in the trunk.
The cabin features black vinyl seats with perforated inserts, and the previous owner reportedly replaced the foam. Equipment includes a wood dashboard fascia, a modern Kenwood stereo, and a lockable glovebox. The replacement carpeting is said to have been sourced from The Roadster Factory.
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The odometer shows 23k miles.
The 2.5-liter inline-six features dual Zenith carburetors and has been modified with a Pertronix electronic ignition module and a vacuum-advance conversion. Emissions equipment and hoses are retained. A spin-on oil-filter setup has been adapted, and the removed factory canister-type parts are included in the sale. The radiator shroud has been replaced with a fiberboard replica, and the fuel tank and sender, fuel pump, rubber lines, wiring harness, ignition switch, and coolant hoses also are said to have been replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
