This 1978 Porsche 924 car was purchased new in March 1978 at Gardner Motors Incorporated of Bernardsville, New Jersey, and is said to have been in storage for several years prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2019. The car is finished in Malaga red over a tan vinyl interior and is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a glass hatchback, a rear window defroster, an AM/FM radio, pop-up headlights, and 14″ alloy wheels. This car has no sunroof nor passenger side mirror.
The body is painted Malaga Red that may have been refinished under previous ownership and features a glass hatchback, round front and rear side reflectors, integrated bumpers, and pop-up headlights. Corrosion is noted on the B-pillars, and the seller reports that one of the brake lights is not working.
Factory 14″ alloy wheels are mounted with 185/70 Yokohama Avid H4 tires. A spare tire mounted on a matching rim is stored in the trunk.
The seats and door panels are upholstered in tan vinyl and joined by matching carpets along with black rubber floor mats. Additional equipment includes an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and a rear window defroster. A split seam is visible in the lower passenger seat.
A leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a combination gauge, and a five-digit odometer showing 22k miles.
The 2.0-liter inline-four features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 110 horsepower and 111 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
