This 1986 BMW 325e is powered by a 2.7-liter inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Alpine White over Indigo Blue leatherette. The two-door coupe is finished in Alpine White with painted blue pinstripes and features polished aluminum impact bumpers, a front air dam, fog lights, bright window trim, pop-out rear quarter windows, a manual sunroof, and a power antenna that is said to be operational.
Stock 14″ bottlecap wheels were refinished under current ownership and wear 195/65 Vredestein Sportrac 5 tires that were mounted in May 2020. Additional service included replacement of the right front wheel bearing. A matching wheel with an older spare tire is housed in the trunk.
The cabin houses manually-adjusted seats trimmed in Indigo Blue leatherette with perforated inserts as well as matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include power windows, a six-button trip computer with an outside temperature indicator, and a factory AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller notes that the stereo sounds scratchy when its volume knob is adjusted and the trip computer digital display is intermittent. The air conditioning system was converted to use R134a refrigerant in June 2021 with replacement of the compressor, drier, expansion valve, pressure switch, and several O-rings.
A four-spoke steering wheel with horn buttons frames a tachometer with a 4,500-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, gauges for fuel level and temperature, and a six-digit odometer showing 28k miles.
The 2.7-liter M20B27 inline-six was factory rated at 121 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. The seller notes that the oil change indicator light remains on. Service under current ownership included replacement of the following:
Gaskets for cylinder head, valve cover, oil pan, intake manifold, and exhaust
Timing, air conditioning, and power steering drive belts
- Fuel filter
- Ignition wires and spark plugs
- Alternator and battery
- Water pump
- Idle control module
- Windshield washer reservoir switch
A five-speed manual transmission routes power to the rear wheels. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in June 2021, while new right and left axle seals were fitted in May 2020.
