This 1986 BMW 635CSi was initially delivered to Rallye Motors of Glen Cove, New York, and was acquired by the seller in 2015. This 1986 BMW 635CSi was initially delivered to Rallye Motors of Glen Cove, New York, and was acquired by the seller in 2015. The seller notes that the left quarter panel has been repainted, and additional blemishes shown in the additional pictures that can be provided by request include rust on the passenger-side rear wheel arch, body dings and scratches, scrapes on the front spoiler, a scratch in the driver-side B pillar, a chip in the windshield, and a cracked fog light lens.
Aftermarket 17″ Rondell 058 wheels with BMW-roundel center caps are wrapped in 235/45 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. The car is said to be modified with an Ireland Engineering Big Brake Kit with stainless lines as well as Spax lowering springs, Moosehead Engineering upper spherical bushings, Lemforder control arms, and new rear Pitman arms. Curb rash is noted on the wheels.
The interior is trimmed in Cardinal Red leather with matching door panel inserts along with a black dashboard and carpeting. Amenities include power-adjustable front seats, an electric sunroof, cruise control, a 13-button onboard computer, and an AM/FM cassette stereo as well as electric windows, mirrors, and locks. The seller notes that there are blemishes on the dash and check panel, a tear is present in the passenger-side window trim, and the air conditioning does not blow cold.
A leather-wrapped M-Tech 1 steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and a six-digit odometer showing 70k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership. The SI board in the instrument panel was replaced with a ProGrama “battery-less” unit, and the seller notes the tachometer and economy meter are initially slow to read if the car has been sitting for an extended period.
The 3.4-liter M30 inline-six was factory rated at 182 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. The oil was changed and the valves were adjusted in March 2021, and additional service under current ownership is said to have included installation or replacement of the following components:
- Coolant and brake fluid
- Gearbox and rear differential oil
- Fuel hoses, including idle injector line
- Fuel pressure regulator, pump, and filter
- Ireland Engineering silicone cooling hoses
- Spark plugs and wires
- Cap and rotor
- Oil pan and rear main seals
- Shifter bushings
- Transmission giubo and seals
- Driveshaft center bearing
- Walker cat-back exhaust
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a resealed Getrag 265/6 five-speed transmission that was installed approximately two years ago in place of the factory automatic. A new flywheel, clutch, rear main seal, and clutch master and slave cylinders were fitted at that time.
A portion of the window sticker, service records, a sales invoice from 1986, manufacturer’s literature, and a partial trunk-mounted tool kit will accompany the car.
