This 1993 Mazda MX-5 Miata was purchased new by the seller and his wife at Al Smith Mazda of Raleigh, North Carolina, and it now shows under 52k miles. The car is finished in Brilliant Black over tan leather upholstery and powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The rear window and top zipper was replaced in 2019, and an oil change was performed in January 2021.
The bodywork is finished in Brilliant Black (PZ) with a manually retractable tan soft top and matching boot cover offered as part of the Package C equipment for 1993, along with pop-up headlights and aftermarket black splash guards. The seller states the soft top rear window and zipper were replaced in 2019, and that the power antenna is stuck in the up position.
Silver-finished 14″ ‘Daisy’ alloy wheels are mounted with Hankook front tires and Dunlop rear tires that measure 185/60 all around. Standard equipment included power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated front rotors, along with four-wheel double-wishbone independent suspension. Package C equipment also includes power-assisted steering.
The cabin features high-back bucket seats upholstered in tan leather with integrated headrest speakers, as well as matching door inserts and carpets. Additional amenities include air conditioning, a cassette stereo, cruise control, Miata-branded floor mats, center console wood trim, power aLessories, aftermarket door sill guards, and an aftermarket Alpine remote sentry alarm system.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows under 52k miles, all of which were added by the seller.
The 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four was factory rated at 116 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque. The seller states the oil was most recently changed in January 2021, and that the car has an intermittently low idle that has caused it to stall in the past.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential.
