The M Roadster features wider bodywork than the base Z3, as well as sculpted rocker moldings, fender vents, roll hoops, revised front and rear bumper covers, and quad exhaust tips. This example is finished in Black Sapphire Metallic (475) with a black soft top, and stone guards are applied ahead of the rear wheel arches. The right-rear tail light assembly and high-mount brake light were replaced during current ownership, and the M badge on the trunk lid has been re-glued.
RoadStar 17″ alloy wheels were fitted with replacement Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires in April 2020, which measure 225/45 up front and 245/40 out back. The power steering and brake systems were flushed in August 2019, and the front sway bar links were replaced in October 2019.
The cabin features heated sport seats trimmed in black Nappa leather that extends to the center console and door panels along with M-logo mats protecting matching black carpets. Amenities include a BMW Business CD stereo, a Harman Kardon audio system, air conditioning, and power aLessories. The seller notes that the plastic seat belt retainers are intact and the power locks intermittently require cycling to operate properly. A mesh wind deflector installs over the twin roll hoops.
The three-spoke wheel features tri-color aLent stitching on the leather wrap and frames gauges with chrome bezels including an M-branded tachometer with an 8,000-rpm redline and a 170-mph speedometer. The digital odometer indicates 29k miles.
The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six produced 315 horsepower with 251 lb-ft of torque when new, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The cooling system was serviced in August 2019, along with an oil change and replacement of the drive belts, thermostat, oil filter housing gasket, and timing chain tensioner seal in August 2019. A replacement battery was fitted in October 2019.
