This 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is #367 of 505 examples produced to honor the 427ci V8 engine option initially offered on the 1966 Corvette. All 427 Limited Editions were finished in Crystal Red Tintcoat with a central stripe over Dark Titanium leather, and each came equipped with the 3LZ Preferred Equipment package, 427-specific wheels, and unique interior trim. Power is provided by a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 mated to a six-speed manual transaxle, and additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, dual-zone automatic climate control, a Bose audio system, a head-up display, and navigation. The car was first registered in Alabama and later relocated to Texas where is was acquired by the seller in May 2021.
In addition to being finished in Crystal Red Tintcoat with a black central body stripe, the 427 Limited Edition is distinguished by its “427” hood badges, rear lip spoiler, and painted door handle trim. The Carfax report shows an accident in 2013 that resulted in damage to the driver-side front of the car.
Chrome split-spoke 18″ and 19″ wheels came standard on the 427 Limited Edition and are mounted with 275/35 front and 325/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that show date codes from 2017 and 2021, respectively. Braking is managed by red-finished multi-piston calipers over cross-drilled rotors all around.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in Dark Titanium leather with gray inserts and Z06-embroidered headrests, as well as red carbon fiber-style trim on the center stack and 427-branded floor mats. Wil Cooksey Jr., who was the Corvette plant manager from 1993 through 2008, chose the 427 Limited Edition’s color scheme and also signed and numbered the underside of the armrest console lid on of each of the 505 examples.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 200-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 21k miles.
The 7.0-liter LS7 V8 features dry-sump lubrication, an oil cooler, a magnesium-alloy engine cradle, and titanium-alloy connecting rods. Output was factory rated at 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential.
The window sticker shows factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $85,945.
