This Cobra 289FIA is a Shelby Cobra replica that was produced by ERA Replica Automobiles of New Britain, Connecticut. The car is finished in Guardsmen Blue with Wimbledon White stripes over black leather and is powered by a 332ci stroker V8 paired with a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission. Additional features include independent rear suspension from a Jaguar, inboard rear disc brakes, FIA-style knock-off wheels, a single roll bar, side-exit exhaust pipes, Stewart Warner gauges, a wide 427 driver’s seat with Crow Harnesses, and front-mounted brake cooling ducts. The car was acquired by the seller from the original owner and relocated to Oregon in 2018.
The car is finished in Guardsmen Blue with Wimbledon White stripes. Features include a hood scoop, side-exit exhaust pipes, a black driver’s roll bar, front-mounted brake cooling ducts, quick-jack bumperettes, and driver-side mirror.
FIA-style 15” wheels are secured by safety-wired knock-offs and wear Goodyear Eagle tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel disc brakes with Wilwood front calipers while the fully-independent suspension features two adjustable coilovers up front in addition to four at the rear.
The cockpit features black leather-upholstered bucket seats with matching dash and bare metal floor and transmission tunnel. Additional equipment includes a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, and a Shelby American dash plaque in addition to Crow latch-and-link lap belts for both occupants. The factory driver’s seat has been replaced with a wider 427 bucket, and the removed seat is included in the sale.
The three-spoke steering wheel with an AC center cap sits ahead of Stewart Warner instrumentation including a tachometer as well as gauges for coolant and oil temperature, amperage, and fuel level. A replacement Auto Meter 160-mph speedometer is mounted ahead of the passenger seat and contains a five-digit odometer showing 17 miles. The seller notes that the removed factory speedometer with odometer showed 3k miles when it stopped working and is included in the sale.
The 332ci stroker V8 engine is said to have been assembled by Tesar Engineering of Long Lake, Minnesota. Features include a Holley carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, an MSD ignition and spark plug wires, a Griffin Radiator, an oil cooler, “Cobra” script valve covers, and a chrome air cleaner cover with a 289 decal.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission.
